About Dousman’s Mill

Small Creek – Big Story.

Experience the power of nature as trees are turned to timber at one of the oldest industrial sites on the Upper Great Lakes. See sawdust fly as sawyers use axes and a massive pit saw to cut lumber by hand. Then, witness the awesome power of the water as Mill Creek is harnessed to run Michael Dousman’s reconstructed sawmill.

Interpreters lead engaging programs which showcase natural resources harvested at Dousman’s Mill nearly two centuries ago. Finally, take time to explore 3.5 miles of groomed hiking trails as you enjoy the stunning natural beauty of Michigan’s North Woods.

This is Mackinac.
