Reconstructed on its original site, Ste. Anne’s Church at Colonial Michilimackinac allows you to step back in time to the 1770s. Located within the palisaded fur-trade fort, the church provides a charming, historic atmosphere like no other.

Schedule & Amenities

Your rental includes exclusive use of the 100-seat church at Colonial Michilimackinac for up to two consecutive hours for decorating, rehearsal, wedding ceremony, pictures, and clean-up. We will try to accommodate rehearsal requests on days leading up to your wedding day.

The following dates and times are available for weddings at Ste. Anne de Michilimackinac Church:

May 1 – June 7, 2019 and September 2 – October 3 2019
Wedding may begin between the hours of 5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily. Colonial Michilimackinac closes to the public at 5:00 p.m. on these dates. Guests, florists, musicians, decorators etc. will not be allowed entrance until after closing.

June 8 – September 1, 2019
Weddings may begin between the hours of 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. daily. Colonial Michilimackinac closes to the public at 7:00 p.m. on these dates, thus fort rental fee reflects the cost to rent the site for an exclusive evening event.

A Mackinac State Historic Parks representative is provided throughout the wedding. No clergy is provided. You must make arrangements with clergy on your own. The church bell can be rung as part of the ceremony.

Public restrooms are located adjacent to the church building.

Reservations should be made as soon as possible. They are made on a first come/first paid basis. Reservations must be scheduled at least 14 days in advance. Payment is required with application to hold the date. If you wish to view the church please call to schedule a visit. These visits can take place between 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.


— Maximum seating is 100 people.

— There is no dressing room at the church.

— There are two two-pronged electrical outlets. There are no lights in the church.

— The church is not heated or air conditioned.

— The church is accessible to people with disabilities.

— No candles are permitted due to fire hazard.

— No pew bows, tape, and no tacks of any type may be used to install decorations.

— No alcoholic beverages are permitted.

— No rice, birdseed, or similar material may be scattered inside the church or outside the church.

— When planning a wedding, keep in mind that Colonial Michilimackinac Church is a reconstructed historic building. The pews are straight and narrow, the floors are unfinished wood and historically accurate. Great care must be taken to protect the building.

— If floral arrangements are part of your wedding décor, flowers may arrive no earlier than 45 minutes prior to ceremony time.

— If you have scheduled musicians they are to arrive no earlier than 45 minutes prior to ceremony time. If you are working with a wedding planner, insure that they are aware of this time frame.

— It is the responsibility of the wedding party to designate an individual to remove flowers, wedding decorations, and other items immediately following the ceremony. Otherwise the items will be removed and discarded by park staff one hour after the wedding. We are unable to store any items before or after the ceremony.

Refund Policy

— $200.00 is non-refundable under any circumstances.

— Cancellation received in writing 61 days or more prior to reserved date – $450.00 refund for Friday-Saturday weddings, $300.00 refund for Sunday-Thursday weddings.

— Cancellation received in writing 60-31 days prior to reserved dates – $300.00 refund for Friday-Saturday weddings, $100.00 for Sunday-Thursday weddings.

—  Cancellations 30 days or less prior to reserved date are non-refundable.
