Hidden Histories: The Enslaved Community at Michilimackinac

As part of the Mackinac Parks: 125 festivities, we want to explore elements of Colonial Michilimackinac’s history and culture that are not currently well-represented in interpretive programming and exhibits. This walking tour/discussion will focus on the enslaved community at Michilimackinac, and will be led by historian(s) from Mackinac State Historic Parks. This is a free event.

Historic Downtown Mackinac Open for the Season

There’s more to Mackinac. See a blacksmith demonstrate his or her trade at the Benjamin Blacksmith Shop, learn about Dr. Beaumont and his famous experiments at the American Fur Company Store, and explore the history of Mackinac Island architecture at the McGulpin House. Help us celebrate 125 years of Mackinac State Historic Parks!

Admission included with a Fort Mackinac or Historic Downtown Mackinac ticket, available at the Biddle House or The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum.
