Loan Materials

Will be sent to the teacher on request. A request form (see Below) must be filled out and payment received in advance. Teacher is responsible for return shipping. Loans are for a full school week (the items will be sent one week in advance by UPS. They usually get there a few days before the "need" date you write on the loan form below). Use one or all loan items for a spectacular lesson!

A box full of over 20 useful and hands on "artifacts" from the past. Use these original and reproduction pieces to teach what tools and types of items were used at the time of Fort Mackinac, Colonial Michilimackinac and Historic Mill Creek. Some of the items included:

Comes with information about each item and sample lesson plans and Michigan Curriculum Framework Standards (MEAP) met with each lesson. Recommended for early & late elementary, middle school and high school.

• Historic Mackinac Video - $5.00 A 27 minute video on the general history of the Straits of Mackinac. Learn about some of the favorite places to visit and how it became so rich in history. Recommended for later elementary, middle school and high school.

• Spectrum of the Straits Slide Program - $5.00 A 44-slide "Spectrum of the Straits" program about the history of the Straits of Mackinac. Learn history at your own pace and add in other historical information. Script included. Recommended for later elementary, middle school and high school.
