The Forest Friends Play Area also opened to the public on opening day, May 5. Kids have been enjoying the giant animal friends since!

POST, April 29, 2008

The Forest Friends Play Area is nearly finished. The large animal structures are painted and in place within the fenced area. The giant bear, frog, beaver and dragonfly stand watch over the area, really for eager children. The informative plaques with bronze casting footprints are in place, as are the "Nature Field Notes" panels. All that's left is putting in the ground cover and other minor details. Take a look through the photo gallery to view more of the nearly completed Forest Friends Play Area.

Animal Footprints

Can you identify these nine footprints from animals in northern Michigan?  Click on this Animal Footprints link  to find out.

When you click on the link above, you'll see photos of animal footprints that are actually bronze plaques. These plaques will be displayed on panels in the Forest Friends Play Area. Click on the footprint to find out what furry or featured friend makes each one. Did you guess correctly?
