NEW! Nature Trail Climbing Wall and Treetop Discovery Tower now being added!

Look for new photos under the Forest Friends Play Area and Water Power Station photo galleries.

On May 5, visitors to Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park will have added ways to enjoy Mill Creek’s rich and fascinating natural history. The new "Adventure Tour", which includes the Nature Trail Climbing Wall, Forest Canopy Bridge, sponsored by Mackinac Associates, and Eagle’s Flight Zip Line, is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed by May 5. The cost for the "Adventure Tour" is $5 in addition to park admission. These features were carefully chosen because they will have minimal impact on the environment and promote an appreciation for and understanding of the parks many natural resources while also offering fun and exciting adventures for guests. Visitors will be guided in small groups through the nature course while the guide informs them of the many different plant and animal species present in the Mill Creek environment. In addition, the trail work that we are undertaking will allow visitors to access many peaceful, scenic locations along the creek that weren’t universally accessible to everyone only a few years ago. Children will also discover an appreciation for nature and history by playing in the Water Power Station, sponsored by  Presque Isle Electric and Gas Co-op, our local Touchstone Energy Cooperative, and in the Forest Friends Play Area.  Plus, visitors can take advantage of the Treetop Discovery Tower, also new in 2008.  Climb 40-feet to the top of the tower and view the nearby Straits of Mackinac and Mackinac Island from the prospective of an eagle.  Click on a link below to learn about the construction progress of each of these new park features, which will be updated as construction continues.
