$1 Visitor's Guide

Still Only $1 for Historic Mackinac Island Visitor's Guide

May 19, 2009

Mackinac Island, Mich.  -  Since its first publication in 1962, the Historic Mackinac Island Visitor’s Guide, published by Mackinac State Historic Parks, is still only $1.00.  It’s another example of Mackinac State Historic Parks’ commitment to providing value-oriented and affordable vacation fun, especially during these trying economic times.

This full-color, 56-page guide to Mackinac Island includes foldout maps of island roads, trails, and attractions, information about geological and historical attractions, interesting island history, important island phone numbers, and much more.  Nearly 3.3 million copies have been printed since the guide’s first publication.

Purchase the guide at Fort Mackinac, the Mackinac Island Visitor’s Center across from Marquette Park, all Mackinac State Historic Parks’ museum stores and admission booths, on ferryboats to the island, and at many Mackinac area book stores, gift shops, and hotels.

Mackinac State Historic Parks, governed by the Mackinac Island State Park Commission, is located in northern Michigan's Straits of Mackinac region.
