Making A Donation

In addition to yearly membership dues, many Mackinac Associates choose to make donations in support of special programs at Mackinac State Historic Parks to benefit the public.  Members and non-members may make a contribution to Mackinac Associates or directly to Mackinac State Historic Parks.  Donations to either organization are tax deductible, but as a 501(c)(3) donations through Mackinac Associates satisfy the guidelines of many foundations and corporations.

There are several ways in which to support MSHP programs:

Annual Gift
Your generous tax-deductible gift to the Mackinac Associates annual appeal may be made in support of a special project or programs, as an unrestricted gift that will be used in the area of greatest need or in support of Mackinac Associates Education Endowment Fund.  Other restricted funds support collection acquisition and publications.

Planned Gift
Planned giving can take many forms, each suited to your personal circumstances.  For example you may include a bequest in your will.  The bequest can be a specified amount, a percentage of estate or can consist or other assets.  You may also designate Mackinac State Historic Parks as a beneficiary on a life insurance policy, retirement plan or IRA.  Gifts of securities are also welcomed.

Major Gift
A substantial gift may qualify for naming opportunities for a program or endowment.
For more information on any of these ideas, contact Diane Dombroski at (231)436-4100.
