Edward, Reuben, and John Foley opened a studio on Mackinac Island in the 1880s. Like Rossiter they produced cabinet cards and stereoviews for the general tourist trade. They also provided group protraits at Arch Rock and of steamships (center). From their shop at the corner of Water and Fort Streets they sold a variety of souvenirs. They also did portrait work (upper left with an Arch Rock background). John Foley relocated to Petoskey, Michigan in about 1905, and operated a studio there until 1946. In addition to photographic prints our collection also has dozens of original Foley negatives which are part of the Gardiner collection.
