The revolutionary war-era Fort Mackinac contains more than a dozen original buildings, a variety of tours and programs, and live cannon and rifle firings throughout the day.

A point in the storm and a guiding beacon since 1889, Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse helped passing ships navigate through the treacherous waters of the Straits of Mackinac. Your visit includes the opportunity to climb to the top of the tower and, peruse the authentically restored quarters, view exhibits including a real lens, in addition to the new Straits of Mackinac Shipwreck Museum with a variety of original artifacts and audiovisual programs to tell the story of the numerous shipwrecks that dot the Straits of Mackinac.

Home to one of the oldest industrial sites on the Great Lakes, the water powered saw mill at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park is nestled in more than 600 acres of natural forest with three miles of hiking trails surrounding it. Visitors can explore northern Michigan’s natural history with the Adventure Tour. This special add-on includes a high ropes bridge, climbing wall, and a zip line ride over Mill Creek. Adventure Tour tickets must be purchased at time of arrival for $8 per person.
