    Ghastly Mackinac

    8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

    Over 115 years of death, disease, and deranged discipline have left its eerie mark within this stone fortress, leaving behind stories of truth that are much stranger than fiction. Feel the chill of evening air winding down your spine while touring the very places where it all happened nearly 200 years ago.

    May not be suitable for younger children.

    * No Mackinac Associates member discount.

    Tickets Must be Pre-purchased Prior to the Event

    • You may also purchase tickets in advance (please call at least 5 days in advance) at 906-847-3328.  No tickets will be sold at the event.
    •  Limited to 30 people per event.
    • Entrance to the event is gained via the ramp at the south end of the fort near Marquette Park.
    • To make reservations, call Katie or April at 906-847-3328. Call  between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.  All reserved tickets need to be picked up at the Mackinac Island Visitors Center on Main Street across from Marquette Park by 5:00 p.m. the day of the event. The visitor's center closes at 6:00 p.m.

    Red, White and Blue Celebration



    Mackinac Associates-Only Event
    5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
    Mackinac Associate members friend level and above receive an invitation to this free annual event, held in the tent outside Fort Mackinac. Enjoy Grand Hotel desserts, appetizers, and beverages while visiting with friends.  It’s a grand way to celebrate Independence Day. Click on the link above to learn how to become a Mackinac Associates member, beginning at $75 a year for a family. This includes free admission to all Mackinac State Historic Parks museums and nature parks for two people and all children or grandchildren 17 and under, plus 15 percent off museum store purchases.

    Star Spangled Fourth of July

    2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. programs
    The historic island fort is decked out in patriotic finery with banners, flags and bunting. It is an 1880’s Independence Day, with 38-gun salutes honoring the states of the period, performances of patriotic music, and Victorian children’s games. Guests join the party and participate in Victorian dances and games on the fort parade ground.  No additional admission charge for this special event above standard Fort Mackinac admission rates.

    An American Picnic


     

    Checkered red and white tablecloths spread on the grass of Fort Mackinac’s parade grounds create a patchwork quilt welcoming hungry patriots with Grand Hotel’s all-you-can-eat tangy BBQ baby back ribs, grilled chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs, turkey burgers, corn on the cob, and a slew of salads, fixings and desserts. Stay for the fireworks!

    Advance tickets purchased before 6:00 p.m., July 4 include picnic and FortMackinac admission: 
    Adults  $45.50, Youth (5–17) $23, Children 4 and under  - Free. 

    Tickets purchased after 6:00 p.m. , July 4 including picnic and FortMackinac admission: 
    Adults  $56.50, Youth (5–17) $29.50.    Children 4 and under  - Free. 

    Mackinac Associates tickets purchased anytime include picnic and FortMackinac admission: 
    Adults - $34.50, Youth (5 - 17) - $16.50, Children 4 and under  - Free

    The picnic begins at 6:30pm
