Customs & Courtesies

• All Mackinac State Historic parks sites, museums and parks are completely smoke free, including outdoor and indoor areas.
• Most Mackinac State Historic Parks sites and buildings are pet-friendly. Pets must be on leashes. Pet water bowls are offered in many of the parks. At Colonial Michilimackinac, the water bowls are outside each of the two restrooms.
• Several wheelchairs are offered for loan on a first-come first-served basis within the Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor's Center.
• Several strollers are offered for loan on a first-come first-served basis within the Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor's Center.
• Photography and video recording for personal use are permitted throughout all Mackinac State Historic Parks sites and buildings.
• Please do not feed the horses and sheep within the animal enclosure.
• Please deposit all litter into provided cans throughout the fort grounds.
• Please turn off cell phones during demonstrations and when in the theater, or change them to vibrate.
• We accept cash, charge cards (Visa, MasterCard and Discover), travelers checks signed in front of the guest service representative, personal checks for the amount of sale only, Canadian currency at the exchange rate, gift certificates in the museum stores only, vouchers of local ferry lines, hotels, partner programs, and tour companies.
